Bridging visas
Some bridging visas (BVA and BVC in specific circumstances).
You want to start a diploma. You want to enrol in a short course. You need to know exactly what 8201 blocks and what it allows.
Condition 8201 appears on some bridging visas, visitor visas, and certain temporary visas. To study longer, you need a different visa — typically a Subclass 500.
Check your grant notice for the exact conditions on your visa.

Subclass 600 (most streams) carries 8201.
Some Subclass 408 Temporary Activity visa streams carry 8201.
Self-directed learning, watching tutorials, or reading on your own does not count.
The condition caps total study across the visa, not per course. Three short 1-month courses equals 3 months total. For longer study, a Subclass 500 student visa is the right pathway.
