Breach is the leading cause of student visa cancellation. The Department acts through the Provider Registration and International Students Management System (PRISMS).

Most institutions require 80 percent attendance. Falling below this threshold is reported to the Department through PRISMS.
Satisfactory progress means passing units and maintaining an acceptable GPA. Two consecutive failed units or a pattern of withdrawals often triggers unsatisfactory progress reporting.
