The Federal Government is still pushing ahead to tighten up the Australian citizenship test, after its initial proposal was thrown out of Parliament.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says he’s made changes to the original plan in an attempt to get enough support for it to cross the line, including dropping the level of English required.

But Labor’s Tony Burke says that’s still too high.
